2006 Election: Mississauga News Endorsement

Published November 8, 2006

In Ward 9, incumbent Pat Saito, arguably the strongest representative on council, is in a race with, arguably, the strongest contender in this municipal election.

Saito has an impressive record of grass roots representation. She's responsive to the needs of her constituents, unafraid to take an unpopular stand and is considered a hard worker. She might not be the most popular councillor in the minds of staff, but she does right by the residents of Ward 9.

...Saito's record speaks for itself...Saito has done nothing to deserve being dismissed from council, however, so unless voters are desperate for a change, she's a good choice.

2003 Election: Mississauga News Endorsement

Published November 5, 2003

Ward 9 residents have the satisfaction of knowing they've been represented by a councillor who has lived in the community for more than 25 years, worked tirelessly as a volunteer before learning the ropes of politics from the inside out as a staff member at City Hall, and has gained invaluable experience dealing with the issues of the huge ward since she was first elected in 1991.

Pat Saito counts among her greatest accomplishments an initiative that effectively curbed overcrowding in schools. She continues to work toward establishing a 300-acre sporting facility to serve the new Churchill Meadows community, as well as a new library.

She's a hard worker and tough negotiator whose commitment to her community can't be questioned.
