Re-Elect Our Councillor Pat Saito

Leadership. Integrity. Experience.

Taking care of our children and youth is very important.  At the Region, we administer Child Care supports and I am pleased that we have introduced reduced costs for 2018 which will save money for parents receiving subsidy.  Having affordable child care is vital so that parents can find employment knowing that their children are safe.  Peel also administers the Free dental care for children from low income families.

Our stable employment strategy includes supporting youth who complete the Summer Job Challenge Program which gives them valuable work experience. We recruited youth ages 16-24 who faced barriers to employment, Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program recipients and clients that identified having a disability.

We also provided other employment supports to all ages through the Peel as Model Employer program giving 12 participants a 6 month paid employment at Peel as well as fully integrated supports to the Families First program.

In Ward 9, I work with our Economic Development staff to encourage new business development especially in the Meadowvale Business Park.  In the past 4 years alone, we have added thousands of new jobs in the community and there is still some room to add even more.  Attracting these jobs is important, but keeping them here is also vital to our economy.
